It has been awhile since I have given an us update about the goings ons in Texas. I have been very very busy! A, my mom, and their men all came to visit a few weeks ago. We did a lot of site seeing and driving. My mom saw the ocean for the first time (ok so it's the Gulf of Mexico, but the water comes from the ocean so I'm fairly confident that it counts). It was a good visit and my mom really misses the crab legs.
Last weekend my friend and her man came down to visit. We did some of the same things more ocean and seafood, but also went to an Astro's game. They also visited NASA which they said was really cool, but I had to bow out for the day and try to get some job search things done.
Obviously the school year is over, so I am again searching aimlessly for a new job. It looks like it may not all be in vain. I have my first interview Monday at HSPVA which is the Houston School for Performing and Visual Arts. It's a pretty cool magnet school, very small, all tag kids. I'm pretty excited about the interview and trying to be positive despite the fact that their small English department has 2 people with doctorate degrees and 2 with Masters. Anyway I'm hoping it goes well, so wish me luck. I also heard from the Princeton Review today (they are a company that puts out study material for the SAT, ACT, GRE ect). I applied for a part time trainer/presenter position there, so I'm curious to see how that goes.
Other than that things are pretty uneventful here. I am really, super duper ready to go home to visit. I miss my friends and family sooooooooo much!!!!!! It's been nice to have people come visit, but it makes me miss home more after they leave. Hopefully I'll be able to come home soon and then I will be home in August and again in September for the most important wedding of the year ;-)
I've also been reading a lot. Just finished "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Wilde - it was great if only for the quotes, and I just started "Getting Stoned with Savages" it looks like it is going to be just as funny as the first book Linds loaned me "The Sex Lives of Cannibals".
