The Week Of The Uneventful
Student teaching started this week and I can't say that there is much to tell. This week I spent most of my time observing the classroom and trying to remember some of the studnets names.
Friday however, was a little bit crazy. My cooperating teacher went home sick and I was left to teach the students for the day with a substitute observing. It went well for the first class, but there were a couple where the kids were a little crazy and loud. I don' t think it would have been quite as bad except that it was embarrassing to have the substitute see it. I scolded them and one of the classes actually listened for a while which was nice. It was stressful, but it was helpful because I got my feet wet.
I got my new digital camera this week and I have been trying to figure out my new MP3 player as well. I think it's more that my computer is ancient and slow then me not knowing what to do, but patience is a virtue and I'm trying to keep mine.
Still playing too much PS2...
It's now time to quit procrastinating and grade the papers that I took home.

An update on all things crazy!
Ok so I know I haven't posted in forever and I hope to get back in the swing of things this week, so that I can start posting fun stuff!
New Years:
Dad and I went to Houston for the ISU v TCU bowl game ev1.net or Houston Bowl. It was a long drive, but we had a good time. I felt kinda bad at times though because at night I would hang with J and leave pops at the hotel. It's difficult when you having with your father to know what will be fun for him.
J and I went to a house party for New Years Eve and I got the chance to meet some of his friends. I had a good time they were all very nice...and very inquisitive about our "situation" it was cute they were so concerned about their friend. It was great to see him again, but now the long haul begins...at least now I can put stories with places and faces.
Birthday:
My birthday this year came as a bit of a surprise. I had worried so much about Christmas and our trip to Houston I kind of forgot about it. My dad took me to Hu-Hot the day of, then Olive Garden Friday with Mom and J, and finally Genji with the peeps on Friday...do you think those that love me like to feed me??? I don't know I had a great time and of course it's always nice to get presents. My friends mean so much to me-I don't know what else to say, they are awesome! I also got a dozen white roses from J. They were beautiful and my favorite, so that made it even better.
Last Day at work:
My last day at work was Thursday. I thought I would feel something when I left for the last time - excitement, scared, sad. I really was fairly indifferent. I was sad to leave my friends and to see how much they are going to miss me-it made me feel good and bad all at the same time. We also had a going away gathering on Friday which was great. I had a good time and was surprised on how many people came to see me off. My team got me a great gift of teacher stuff and a gift certificate to the teachers supply store. It kicked a**!
Other than that I am just trying to get ready to start student teaching and playing a little too much PS2. Today I spent my day clearing out all of the Christmas decorations, cleaning, doing laundry, and paying bills.
I think there comes a point where so many things in your life begin to change and you just start going with it. I'm just taking everything one day at a time and hoping that I made the right decisions. I am just ready to start my new career and figure out things out with J (ok so maybe not dealing with everything one day at a time, I've been stressing over my TX man a little too much-does this come as a surprise to anyone? I didn't think so). I guess if i were giving a friend advice about this I would say something simple like it will all work out in the end. Which I suppose it will.
